Location

Ocean Ridge is a waterfront town of around 1,700 residents in Palm Beach County, Florida.  The winter season brings in around 1,000 additional residents to the area. The town is directly to the east of Boynton Beach, and to the north of Delray Beach.  Ocean Ridge is to the south of both West Palm Beach and Lake Worth.  The Atlantic Ocean is to the east of the Town of Ocean Ridge.

Shopping

There are several nearby communities in the Palm Beach County area that offer a variety of shopping destinations for residents of Ocean Ridge.  Nearby Boynton Beach is home to the Boynton Beach Mall.  With more than 140 specialty shops, national retail stores and restaurants, there is enough variety for just about any shopper.  Other options include Atlantic Avenue, which runs through Downtown Delray Beach.  The area includes unique shops, with locally made artwork for sale.  The Delray Marketplace features even more shops and restaurants to choose from.  For antique shopping, head to the Atlantic Antique Merchant Mall, also in Delray Beach.  Nearby Lake Worth features a revitalized district encompassing its downtown area.  Included are several unique stores and restaurants.  Downtown West Palm Beach has CityCenter.  The shopping center has a number of specialty shops and restaurants inside.  As well, Clematis Street is the trendy area of West Palm Beach, with several additional boutiques, art galleries and restaurants to choose from.  It also includes nighttime entertainment during the week.  For more upscale shopping, there is Worth Avenue.  Expect to find some of the top designers and finest dining locations in all of South Florida and Palm Beach County.

Tourism is a big part of the local economy of Ocean Ridge, and the rest of Palm Beach County.  While there is a large residential area to choose from, several businesses in the area do rely heavily on tourists.  The School District of Palm Beach County is also a large employer for the region.  The public school district boasts one of the largest student enrollments of any public school district in the entire United States.
