At The Cascades, enjoy an easy lifestyle, with the security of living out your retirement within a community with activities to match all your wants and needs. The 55+, active adult community includes more than 900 homes, built between the late 1990s and early 2000s.  The 24/7 guard gates open to a beautifully landscaped community with mature palm trees and fantastic waterfalls. There are ten lighted Har-Tru tennis courts plus a tennis Pro Shop, two swimming pools, and even an on-site café at the neighborhood clubhouse.  Residents also enjoy a fitness center, billiards room, aerobics studio, and a card room.  There are numerous classes on-site, from fitness to art classes and cards.  An activity directory is there full-time to help residents schedule the many clubs and activities. The community of The Cascades does not have its own golf course.  However, there is a neighboring course, which allows for both fairway views and lake views throughout the neighborhood. Residents are responsible for paying fees that fund lawn service, maintenance of the common areas, and neighborhood security.  Homeowner’s association fees also pay for home painting, some pest control and trash service.  Fees are relatively low compared with other nearby communities. The community of The Cascades is between Woolbright Road and Lake Ida Road, on the west side of Jog Road. This is in the Boynton Beach area of Palm Beach County.  Palm Beach is the third largest county in the state of Florida.  Boynton Beach, by that token, is the third largest city within Palm Beach County.

Single-family, Mediterranean-style homes in The Cascades reside in four different subdivisions.  Choices revolve around three bedrooms and two baths.  Square footage ranges from a little more than 2,000 to more than 3,000 square feet of living space.  Home prices range from the low $200,000s to homes in the high $400,000 range. Many homes include open floor plans, with crown molding throughout.  Expect built-in closets, with upgraded flooring and countertops, as well as top-of-the-line finishes and appliances. As for shopping, there are three nearby shopping malls for residents to choose from.  High-end shopping can also be found along Congress Avenue and Atlantic Avenue.   In addition, there are several fabulous restaurants to choose from in this area.  Many are fine dining, but there are also several other choices for couples and families. If outdoor adventure is what you are after, the Atlantic Ocean is just about 15 minutes away by car.  Here you can lounge along the beaches, do some fishing from the shore, or pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it. Golfers are in a prime location.  There are around 150 public and private golf course in the Palm Beach County area, alone.

There are also a number of indoor activities to choose from, including historical locations and sites, as well as various museums to visit. For travelers, both Palm Beach International Airport and Fort Lauderdale International Airport are just a short drive from The Cascades. The Cascades caters to a lot of retirees, but the job market in Palm Beach County centers heavily around tourism.  The largest employer, however, is in education at the School District of Palm Beach County. Nearby hospitals, include well-known Bethesda Memorial Hospital, located in Boynton Beach, as well as several others in surrounding communities. Although the community of The Cascades is an adult community, it does fall within the area served by the School District of Palm Beach County. A number of colleges and universities also call this area of South Florida home.
