For decades, the Delray Dunes Golf and Country Club has served as one of the top golf communities in all of South Florida.  Today, the area still welcomes new residents with beautiful homes nestled within a luxury golf community. The community of Delray Dunes was originally developed in 1969.  There are now 323 homes located on 300 acres of property.  The private, 18-hole, Pete Dye designed, championship golf course is just one of the things that makes this community so special.  The course was refurbished in 2002 and 2010. There are also two lakes on property, tucked within a gated entrance.  Roving security also patrols the grounds 24/7 for added security. The Delray Dunes Golf and Country Club also features a new clubhouse and fitness center, which just opened in late 2012.  The fitness center includes both exercise equipment and classes.  Members can even use a personal trainer on-site. Just outside the fitness center are two Har-Tru tennis courts, which were recently resurfaced.  A Tennis Pro teaches weekly tennis clinic on site as well as private lessons.  The country club’s swimming pool is also brand new.  Each group of villas within the community also has its own swimming pool for residents. The country club is private, and requires homeowners of Delray Dunes to become members of the club.  Non-resident memberships are also available for purchase. The community of Delray Dunes is found near Woolbright Road and South Military Trail.  This area of Boynton Beach is between I-95 and the Florida Turnpike in Palm Beach County.

The community of Delray Dunes features 200 custom homes and 123 villas.  Many of the homes were built in the early 1970s. Some of the villas include two bedrooms, and two baths, and are priced less than $200,000.  Expect to find enclosed patios, split floor plans, walk-in closets and updated kitchens with stainless steel appliances. As for the single-family homes, expect homes in the mid $300,000 range to homes priced at more than $900,000.  Some of the larger homes also have exceptional views of the golf course, with designer finishes and upgrades throughout.

Residents of Delray Dunes do not have to go far for dining choices.  Inside the clubhouse, residents have a main dining room.  There is also a snack bar that serves a quick snack poolside. A Pro Shop sells golf equipment and clothing on-site.  Shoppers looking for items other than golf, though, do not have to venture very far.  Several retail stores are nearby, as well as national chains located within the area mall.  Upscale boutique shopping is also available. Aside from golf, some of South Florida’s most amazing beaches and waterways are just a short drive away from Delray Dunes. The largest employer in the Palm Beach County area is the public school district, the School District of Palm Beach County.  The job market also revolves around tourism and agriculture. When it comes to medical care, Bethesda Memorial Hospital is a short distance away in Boynton Beach.  In fact, the Delray Dunes Golf and Country Club has hosted an annual golf tournament for more than 40 years, the Bethesda Pro Am Tournament, which benefits the hospital. Students living in the community of Delray Dunes attend public schools within the top-rated School District of Palm Beach County.  The closest schools to the community are Citrus Cove Elementary School, Congress Community Middle School and Boynton Beach Community High School. Nearby charter schools, include Charter School of Boynton Beach, South Tech Academy and Quantum High School.  All accept students from the community.
