Enjoy country club living, with a lakefront view, when you make your next home in the exclusive neighborhood of Lakefield.  The neighborhoods of Lakefield North and South share a gated entrance, and are found within the area of Wellington Country Club.  Lakefield West has its own separate, electronic gated entrance directly across the street from Wellington Country Club.  Country club membership is available to all homeowners, but is not required.  You will find both homes and villas, built from the late 1980s to the early 2000s.  Lakefield North and South are found on the western edge of the Village of Wellington in Palm Beach County.  The communities are on the eastern side of Aero Club Drive.  Homes within Lakefield West are on the west side of Aero Club Drive.

The homes of Lakefield North and South range from two to five bedrooms, with two-car garages.  Many of the homes have either lake views or golf course views.  The average home price is between the mid $200,000s to the mid $300,000s, with square footage ranging between 1,900 and 2,000 square feet of living space, on average.  Lots are ¼ of an acre, or less.  As for the homes in Lakefield West, many homes also face the golf course. The homes in Lakefield West range from three to five bedrooms, with two or three-car garages.  They range in size from 1,800 square feet to nearly 3,600 square feet of living space.  Some of the homes are in the $500,000 range.  Homes feature concrete block construction, with tile flooring and carpeting throughout.  Expect to find high ceilings and walk-in closets.  Some homes include enclosed patios, private pools and tile roofing.  Some homes have sprinkler systems, which pump water straight from the nearby canal.  Many of the homes are recently remodeled and updated. 

Shopping destinations are plentiful in the region, with the closest and largest shopping area to Lakefield being the Mall at Wellington Green.  The area features more than 150 specialty and well known retail chain stores.  CityPlace, in downtown West Palm Beach, is also a great place for shoppers looking for both apparel and home décor.  You are sure to find what you are searching for.  If more upscale shopping is what you are after, though, you will find that too in Palm Beach County.  As for dining options, the choices are endless.  Several restaurant chains are close to Lakefield, along with unique fine dining locations.  The beautiful beaches of South Florida are less than a 30-minute drive from Wellington.  There are great spots for diving, fishing and basking in the year-round sunshine.  There are also dozens of public parks in the Village of Wellington and Palm Beach County.  Outdoor activities are varied, from hiking and running, to biking and walking on the numerous trails.  Medical care is easily within reach when you make your home in Lakefield.  Dozens of hospitals, medical centers and health clinics are in the region, with one of the closest to Lakefield being Wellington Regional Medical Center.  Students living within Lakefield North, Lakefield South and Lakefield West all attend schools in the School District of Palm Beach County.  The public school district is one of the largest employers in all of Palm Beach County.  By enrollment numbers, it is also one of the largest public school districts in the nation by size.  There are also several private schools located around the Village of Wellington and the surrounding communities.  A number of private and public universities are also in Wellington, and the surrounding area of Palm Beach County.  They include Palm Beach Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College.
