El Cid

Welcome to El Cid

West Palm Beach

Make your next home within the lovely and historic community of El Cid.  The West Palm Beach community is on the National, State and Local Register of Historic Places.  The 281 historic buildings, making up nearly a dozen subdivisions, were built beginning in 1923.  It is a tight-knit community of mainly professionals, who regularly get together as a community for parties and to support the neighborhood.  Although the community does not technically have a neighborhood park, there is a great place to walk or bike along the lake within the community.  El Cid is located in West Palm Beach, bounded by South Flagler Drive, Dyer Road, Flamingo Avenue and South Dixie Highway.  It is on the western shore of Lake Worth, in fantastic Palm Beach County.

The homes of El Cid are both Mission-style and Mediterranean-inspired homes.  The homes are beautiful, and so is the location.  Expect to find homes with two bedrooms, and two baths priced in the low $700,000s with around 1,200 square feet of living space.  Larger homes include five bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths, with 7,300 square feet of living space, priced around $3.5 million dollars.  Many of the homes come with private pools, balconies, spas and summer kitchens in the backyards.  Inside, expect to find designer finishes and upgrades throughout, including beautifully remodeled chef’s kitchens.

For shopping, CityPlace is very close to the neighborhood.  This downtown shopping center provides a good mix of dozens of specialty shops and chain retail stores.  It also includes a number of restaurants.  In fact, El Cid is located just south of the recently revitalized downtown portion of West Palm Beach.  Worth Avenue, with its upscale specialty shops, is also a short distance away.  There are plenty of choices when it comes to dining, too, from fine dining establishments to more casual, family-friendly locations.  The choices are truly endless.  When it comes to entertainment, the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is right downtown.  The facility hosts the ballet, the opera, and is the go-to place for musical events throughout the year.  The Norton Museum of Art provides culture and art of the region and abroad, being the largest art museum in the entire state of Florida.  The Palm Beach County History Museum provides a greater prospective on the area, now found in a former courthouse, transformed into a piece of history, itself.  Each year SunFest brings art and music to the downtown waterfront.  The residents of El Cid have a front row seat to the festivities.  The Intracoastal is very close to the community, as are the beaches.  From diving and boating, to fishing, there are plenty of outdoor activities within reach sure to keep you entertained.  As for golfers, there are more than 150 different choices around the Palm Beach County area, with both private and public courses available.  Nearby hospitals to El Cid, include Good Samaritan Medical Center and Butler Medical Center.  Both are found in West Palm Beach.  Younger children living in El Cid attend either Melaleuca Elementary School, Okeeheelee Middle School or Palm Beach Lakes High School.  All three are in the School District of Palm Beach County.  The public school district is one of the biggest employers in the region, and one of the largest public school districts in the nation, when it comes to enrollment numbers.  There are also several private schools in the area, including The King’s Academy, Cardinal Newman High School and Oxbridge Academy, among others.  The El Cid community is directly south of Palm Beach Atlantic University, in downtown West Palm Beach.  Other nearby colleges and universities include, Keiser University and Northwood University.
